One of the oldest neighborhoods west of Austin, Lost Creek offers a quiet retreat from the city without sacrificing any urban amenities.

Located just west of Capital of Texas Highway and south of Bee Cave Road, Lost Creek is a meandering neighborhood of comfortable homes and community spirit that follows the contours of scenic Barton Creek.

Most of the spacious houses were built in the 1970s and 1980s, and the lots have enough room to stretch out from neighbors. A few upscale condominiums are available near the entrance to the neighborhood at Lost Creek Boulevard and Capital of Texas Highway. Residents enjoy the benefits of Westlake High School and the Eanes school district, which is consistently recognized as one of the top districts in Texas.

The convenience of Lost Creek makes it one of the most attractive neighborhoods in the Austin area. It's only a 10-minute drive to downtown Austin and just a stoplight way from the city of West Lake Hills. While that close proximity to the city adds appeal, Lost Creek's charm can be found in quieter places. Barton Creek, which marks the southern and western border of the neighborhood, offers beautiful strolls through the Hill Country landscape and hidden swimming holes especially inviting during the summer. This stretch of the Barton Creek Greenbelt has far less visitors than its crowded paths closer to Austin.

I have to admit that when I first reached out through Yelp to set up a meeting with Eric I was a little skeptical.
