With its convenient location a dozen miles west of Austin, Lake Pointe provides an appealing gateway to Lake Austin and the Texas Hill Country.

Lake Pointe developed near Bee Cave Road and Highway 71 a decade ago. With its attractive location and affordable but spacious homes, the neighborhood quickly became a popular choice for families seeking a little more space without drifting too far from urban amenities. Lake Pointe's location in the stellar Lake Austin school district doesn't hurt, either; the local Lake Pointe Elementary regularly receives an exemplary rating from the state's education agency.

The area's numerous recreational options make Lake Pointe a popular spot with golfers, boaters and others who enjoy the outdoors. The nearby town of Lakeway has earned its reputation as a haven for addicted and weekend golfers alike. I have to admit that when I first reached out through Yelp to set up a meeting with Eric I was a little skeptical.
