Hackers Hit Austin Road Sign

As reported by Fox News, hackers cracked their way into a road sign near the University of Texas.  The sign was modified to read “Zombies Ahead.”  I find this hi-larious!

Reading through the story, it wasn’t much of a hack.  The signs are shipped with a standard password, which the purchasers rarely change.

Thanks to Brett Tabke for the twitter update.

Where’d you get the picture? Looks like it was taken on the side of the freeway.

Excellent. But the hackers must be nice people to have only written that?

Watch out, I see a trend starting. Maybe the passwords will start to change.

That’s classic! Really no harm done, and if anything it may get people to slow down and look for them.

As for the pw’s starting to be changed, sad that it takes something going wrong before things are done the way they should be.

Consider yourselves lucky. Our County Manager has been rumored to have been having an affair with a bimbo in town that everyone knows. Hackers got into a similar looking sign in a very popular area and changed it to say this county manager had an STD. True or not, that’s embarrassing!

Man, that has to be BS. In the age of camera phones & internet, that would definitely have gotten online!
