Dropbox – Flexible File Sharing & Storage

I finally signed up for a Dropbox account, as I’ve been collaborating a lot with graphic designers & WP developers.  It’s a pretty great service.  You install the software, and it adds a “dropbox” folder on your system.  You then install the software on any machine you use.  Any file you want to share between machines, you simply put in the dropbox.  If you want to collaborate with friends, you create a new folder within dropbox, and share that folder.

Check it out – the free account has 2GB of storage.

Dropbox is nice enough, but I managed to get 6GB from Syncplicity for free, through referrals and other bonuses.

I have been using drop box for almost a year now. Although it is just another service I need to keep up with, it is pretty helpful in sharing large files with other people. I could see Google coming out with something like drop box where you can store more than just documents like they have now.

I’ve used drop box in the past. Only needed it for a few months but it worked well.

I’ve been using Dropbox for the past two weeks and it’s absolutely amazing. It works really well when you need to do something like put together a presentation and are using multiple computers to do it. In my scenario I have my office computer, my laptop and my iMac at home. It works flawlessly. Will definitely upgrade once I hit the 2GB limit.

I’m also a great fan of dropbox. I like the way you can assign different users for different folders. Also, it works seamlessly between Macs and PCs. I also tried SugarSync and although this does advertise sharing between Macs and PCs – I’ve never managed to make it work despite extensive interaction with support.

great find Eric! This is far better than paying $8/month on box dot net. Thanks for saving me a few bucks.

I will have to check this service out. I have encountered more and more problems now that we started working out of a new office. Logistics and admin should not take this much time out of the day, and this dropbox service looks like it could help resolve my problems. Thanks.
