Choose the Fate of Barry Bonds’ Record Breaking Ball

Master marketer Mark Ecko purchased Bonds’ record breaking ball. He’s posted an online poll to decide the fate of the ball. Personally, I think this is a great marketing move, and a really cool thing to do. Check out the poll:

thats crazy how that ball only cost 750,000, when the mark mcgwuire ball was sold for 3 million… i just dont get that.

The problem with Barry is that hes disliked by the media, the fans and worst of all by a large percent of his own teammates.

Yeah – I’m pretty pumped that it was branded with the asterisk before going to the Hall of Fame – and they said they would gladly accept & display it.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? So what the man juiced, he still had to hit the ball! I was pulling for him to break the record and I’m glad he did, it was good for baseball. Especially now since football is kicking its but in ratings.

I think it’s pretty naive to think that the majority of professional athletes DON’T juice….however, with Bonds it’s ridiculously blatant – it was with McGuire, as well.

I’m disgusted with that guy. He’s been a jerk his whole career. I don’t even understand why he juiced, he was already one, if not the best outfielder at the time he started. I saw a great post on how Bonds has grown since he entered the league. Check out this quote:

“For his part, Murphy could document Bonds’ physical changes via the changes in his uniform size. Since joining the Giants, Bonds had gone from a size 42 to a size 52 jersey; from size 10 ½ to size 13 cleats; and from a size 7 1/8 to size 7 ¼ cap, even though he had taken to shaving his head. The changes in his foot and head size were of special interest: ….”

Richard, don’t even start with the innocent until proven guilty. Give me a break.

There definitely needs to be an asterisk next to his name on the record.

So the man juiced, so what? Its not like Babe Ruth and all them guys played against the best players always. So the record books are altered one way or another.

And yes, until he admits hes guilty or hes caught The Man is Innocent. :)

Lol. On a side note, I saw he played his last game with the Giants. I wonder where he’s going to play next year and if he will be willing to take a paycut? Oh well, as long as he doesn’t end up on the Mariners I will be happy :)

Wow. 10 Million votes, He must have made all this money back if he found a way to monetized that kind of traffic. Either way he must be well know in the baseball world and can use that branding for other purposes. Awesome idea for link baiting.
