As part of the Lake Travis Independent School District, elementary-aged children attend Bee Cave Elementary, while middle school students attend Lake Travis Middle School and high school students attend Lake Travis High School. The Lake Travis School District is considered to be one of the best school districts in Central Texas, while Lake Travis High School was ranked as one of the two best schools in the Austin area by the Children at Risk 2010 Texas Public School Ranking System.

When school is not in session, Briarcliff children and their parents have a wide variety of on-site recreational activities available to them. Some of the amenities found in the community include a boat launch, nature trails and the 9-hole Pedernales Golf Club. Residents of Briarcliff enjoy free access to the boat ramp at Briarcliff Marina for up to two boats per household, while the nature trails cover 2.5 miles and wind throughout the neighborhood. Other onsite amenities include a 9-hole disc golf course, tennis courts and a Community Center that is available for rent. The Community Center also features a library, from which residents are welcome to check out books at any time.
Residents of Briarcliff also enjoy access to Briarcliff Park, which can be accessed from Kyle at Dunkeld. The park is available each day from morning to dark and features picnic facilities, a pavilion, restrooms, playground equipment and a basketball court.

While the community of Briarcliff is relatively small, it has much to offer to its residents. With its own marina, park and golf course, residents never have to leave home in order to enjoy a variety of recreational activities. Of course, with Downtown Austin located nearby, residents don’t have to travel far if they do want to go out and wish to enjoy all that the city has to offer.
