Austin Second Fastest Selling City in US

So this news is about 6 weeks old, but I just found it.  In early September, Business Week announced that Austin is the 2nd fastest selling city in the United States with an average days on market of 68.  This says quite a bit about the national real estate market.  Our market is a little soft, but isn’t crazy bad.  I would describe it as a buyer’s market, but not a “let’s offer them 85% of list” market.

Anyways, wanted to spread the (sort of) good news.

That is good news Eric, as we know it could always be worse

That is good news. News like that might bring in investors to help clear up the excess houses on the market…that’s what we need all over really.

If people do all they can like staging the home and making it stand out that might help individuals get better results.

Thanks

Congrats Eric, It is also a sign that you have a more educated group of home sellers there. They probably know the importance of pricing a home properly. I have been blogging for months about how every month when I do the home sales stats for different towns 60% to 70% of the homes that sold will have done so in 40 days or less. People still don’t get it though.

Austin also recently ranked as the #1 city that will get thru this real estate downturn better then any other major city in the country.
