Located right in the heart of northwest Austin, Great Hills makes it easy to access all of the amenities that Austin has to offer.  At the same time, Great Hills has quite a bit to offer to its residents. In fact, residents have many options of restaurants and offices to select from in the area.  In addition, numerous office parks continue to be created in the Great Hills area.

Over the past two decades, the Great Hills area has grown significantly.  This is partially due to the fact that the area is so close to some of the biggest employers in the Austin area, including IBM, Dell and Freescale.  At the same time, Great Hill is home to the Arboretum, which is where Austin’s residents head when they are interested in shopping at an upscale shopping mall.  Several other malls and shops can also be found in Great Hill as well.

In addition to the numerous shopping opportunities, Great Hills also offers several recreational opportunities to its residents.  Great Hills Park, for example, provides almost 60 acres of recreational space and offers 1.1 miles of hiking trails.  Great Hills Golf Club, which offers an 18-hole par-71 course, is also located in the area

Great Hills offers two different independent public school systems to its residents, including the Austin Independent School District and the Round Rock Independent School District, both of which have outstanding reputations for academic excellence.  Parents may also choose to send their children the private Great Hills Christian School for all of their elementary and secondary schooling if they like.
