The Elegant Augusta real estate blog also uses ‘do-follow. Here’s hoping we don’t get spammed!!

September 1, 2007

do-follow is a good thing for all of us. you get some links a a little bite of traffic. keep on working

September 2, 2007

I have been thinking about this a lot…and while I am a fan of “do follow”s, I am and remain concerned about the number of people that will just use it to link bomb their sites and not actually add some value.

I also am concerned that if you don’t get your links from enough sources, (i.e. comment on enough blogs) they will begin to have a pattern and look like a link exchange.

For that reason, I am not listing my blogs (plural) on lists, although I am participating.

Thoughts?

Eric

Great points, Blackwell. Check out the Lucias Linky Love plug-in. As soon as I am back from vacation, I am installing it & will blog about it. It will address all the problems you´ve just discussed.

September 3, 2007

Thanks for the list

September 3, 2007

Hey Eric, Can you add my blog to your list
http://brandonrealestateblog.com

September 7, 2007

Eric,

Thanks for the great list. What you are doing is truely a public service. I just hope the moderation of spam isn’t so insane that it outways the benifits of giving a do follow blog.

September 8, 2007

Great list, Eric. Where did you get it? Just kidding!

September 9, 2007

Great list.

September 9, 2007

Eric;

Have you applied the LuciasLinkLove plugin yet. I have and while it certaily prevents the overzealous SEO types and etc from getting a free shot at you. I have found though that hand moderation still works best in conjunction with it to keep the link bombers away.

Tis a sweet plugin though..

E. Blackwell

September 9, 2007

Blackwell -

I’ve applied the Lucia’s Linky Love plugin. I absolutely love it. Obviously, hand moderation is the best & I still moderate all comments by hand. I like the LLL plug-in so much because it weeds out people who just come by for one comment, never to return.

September 12, 2007

Thanks Joe & Colleen! Putting them up now!

September 17, 2007

#5 may be do follow, but unless you’re registered, you can’t comment and there is no registration page. I was wondering why there wasn’t any comments on the blog…

Oh, and the other blog listed has comments closed.

September 27, 2007

Thanks for putting the carnival of real estate on this list.

What about GeekEstate Blog? http://www.geekestateblog.com

September 28, 2007

Just added it!

September 30, 2007

Eric, looks like http://www.carnivalofrealestate. com has nofollows

October 2, 2007

Thanks Richard – just checked it & I’m pulling it off the list…

October 2, 2007

No Problem, now go to bed my man its late. lol

October 3, 2007

Eric, I believe geekestateblog also has nofollows.

October 17, 2007

Thanks for the list. I’ll visit all of them.

October 17, 2007

Looks like AustinReaEstateGuy also has Nofollows

October 30, 2007

Thank you for the list! I have came back here several times to find new blogs. I was wondering if there is a way to change my blog to do follow even though we use Word Press?

October 30, 2007

Paul -

If you’re hosting your blog at WordPress, then there’s no way to add plug-in’s. WordPress is also an open source (free) program that you can easily upload to your current website – it literally takes about 5 minutes. I highly suggest moving to a blog hosted on your own server to take advantage of all the great plug-in’s that WordPress has to offer.

Here’s what I’m packing on my blog!

October 30, 2007

Paul;

I’d take the advice that Eric Bramlett just offered you. Hosting your own allows for a WORLD of flexibility that hosting it there simply cannot offer. It only takes a few minutes to set up and you can customize a ton to keep it current for a long time.

Happy blogging!

October 31, 2007

Eric can you add

http://www.newhomessection.com/blog

to your list?

October 31, 2007

Thank you “Eric’s” We took your advice and know are blog is listed. My partner Jayson made the changes that you suggested. Thank you both again for you help. Happy Halloween!!!!

October 31, 2007

We took your advice and (now our) blog is listed.

sorry

November 5, 2007

Hey Eric,

My Oregon Real Estate Blog is do-follow, please feel free to add it to your list.

Thanks,

Too bad your plugin makes all of my comments no-follow. Too long a nickname. Grr.

By the way, we get a couple of referrals a day from your blog list up there. It’s a nice link to have.

November 13, 2007

You’re at 9 characters w/ the word “assistant.” Try “Lydia’s Ass’t” or your real name – as long as they come in under 15 characters, you’re fine!

November 15, 2007

Joe Lane requires login on his tri-cities blog. So it’s impossible to comment. Hey Joe if you’re reading this: Allow us to comment on your great articles! You had one on the Boy Scouts that was really good!!

November 16, 2007

I hear ya. I need to install a capcha code or something. I have 8000 spam comments waiting for moderation. Does anyone know how to get rid of so many comments in one swoop?

Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a person to work on a WordPress blog? I need some things installed and some fine tuning but haven’t had the time to sit and figure it out. I’m sure it’s simple, but just another thing to do that I haven’t had time to do!

November 16, 2007

Joe–

Give me a call or email…glad to help you. May trade you for some Squidoo assistance depending on how much time we are looking at…

Best

Eric

November 17, 2007

Joe -

Feel free to email or call me, as well. You’ll love all the options that WP has…for your immediate problems, I would suggest activating askimet & installing “did you pass math?”

November 17, 2007

Akismet is a wonderful tool for eliminating spam. We rarely have any spam comments on the Elegant Blog. It’s eliminated several thousand spam comments already in the last year.

November 19, 2007

I watch REW as well. I never liked the no-follow rule either so I never allow that on my blog http://www.ebaspace.com/

November 22, 2007

Knox -

Nice blog…I shot ya’ a comment. I’d list it here, but you’re SEO related, not real estate.

November 22, 2007

Thanks, I’m fine without being on the list, I saw your comment, thanks for visiting – I see you at REW here and there too.

November 22, 2007

I know you are. ;) You’re blogs on my radar now – checking back frequently.

November 22, 2007

Yours as well.

December 12, 2007

Eric, can you please add my blog to your list?

http://blog.hashiminvestments.com/

December 12, 2007

Just shot you an email!

December 17, 2007

We have a do follow blog. http://www.tampa-real-estate-blog.com

December 17, 2007

On it, Bob & Donna!

December 18, 2007

Hi Dj and Bob!

I just tried to comment on one of your posts and it required a login…ummm…any chance of that happening? Hope all is well in Fla for you guys.

Best

Eric

December 18, 2007

Excuse my ignorance but does that mean I really don’t have a do-follow? How do I remove it? Learning curve again …..

December 18, 2007

Eric – Ryan just posted a comment which I approved and it is visable. He didn’t say anything about a login so I am confused. If you set one up, I will approve it.

December 18, 2007

Hi Bob;

I just went to the post about popular states to retire to. It is the only one in the Tampa category. At the bottom it says “You must be logged in to comment”….since I cannot login, I cannot comment.

You can remove it by changing a simple setting in your WP control panel.

Best

Eric

December 18, 2007

I removed it.

January 2, 2008

Hi Eric -

I will talk to the Tomato and see if I can add a few of the plug ins you suggested. Love the math plug in.

I have a do follow blog…..can you add me to your list?

http://IndyRealEstateTalk.com

Thanks,
Paula

January 3, 2008

Paula -

I’d love to add your blog to the list, but it doesn’t look like you have any of the do-follow plug-ins installed. Here’s a really simple one:
http://kimmo.suominen.com/sw/dofollow/

Let me know if you need any help.

January 10, 2008

Although I have been computing for many years, and obviously have heard of blogging, I have never really participated by creating my own blog (or responding to any other blogs). While reviewing my site on Point2NLS, I read your input which lead me to your site. The information is very helpful, but how would I begin to create similar blogs. Thanks.

January 10, 2008

Kevin -

I’m not really familiar with the Point2 CMS, but you can call customer service & ask them how to go about installing WP on a Point2 site. Another great place to ask the question is at http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/forum.php – go to the blogging section & fire the question off. There’s also a plugin you can ask them to upload w/ WP that will allow you to easily manage any plugins in the future. I can’t think of the name off the top of my head, but I’ve emailed a friend for it. Once you have WP installed, check out my list of preferred plugins here

January 26, 2008

Hi Eric,

Enjoyed your Realtor business cards banter – I’ve seen some pretty amusing Realtor pictures up here in NH. Just wanted to suggest our Blog for your list; guess you can go check it out and decide if it’s worthy, we’re trying to make it useful for investors etc. Keep up the good work!

Best wishes,

Richard (Chief Deal Weaver)

January 31, 2008

Eric
I was looking for this post. I thought my blog on my REW was do-follow but looking more closely it isn’t. I also do have a typepad blog. Is there an easy way to make that a do-follow?

January 31, 2008

Hi Eric,

Can you add my Real Estate Blog to your list?

Thanks,

Jim

February 1, 2008

Hey James – I just checked your blog, and I couldn’t find a do-follow comment. The only comment I saw had the nofollow tag on it. Are you using a nofollow plug-in? Shoot me an email if you need some help with plug-ins.

February 1, 2008

Hi Eric,

I am actually using a do follow plug-in (Lucia’sLinkLove) just have not been getting any comments from people who are posting web addresses.

Jim

Blog is http://www.conventnews.org blog title is “Midtown Direct Real Estate News”

February 1, 2008

Alright, man – you’re listed!

February 1, 2008

Thanks Eric

Jim

February 4, 2008

Hey Eric,

This is really for everyones information. My Blog (listed at #15) is not WordPress, so I don’t have the option of all the fancy plug-ins like LLL, so what I was doing, and it was in my Blog Rules at the top of the page was requiring 10 posts before the posts would be do-follow. Without the ability to have a plug-in doing this for me it was a time consuming pain.

So now all comments are do-follow and will be moderated closely. Please use names and not anchor text and you might even read the rules, although I know that no one likes to read rules. Most of all, please join in and feel free to link back to me if you feel I have an interesting article. :)

February 4, 2008

Hey Dennis – you know, as much as I like LLL, I’m actually taking one of my other blogs to a straight “do follow/no follow” where I hand moderate each post, and whether or not it will be a follow. I think that LLL is actually a little restrictive w/ its rules. I’m considering switching this plug-in over to that type of do-follow, but I would have to go back & hand moderate ~500 comments, which wouldn’t be any fun.

Thanks for the head’s up on your blog!

February 4, 2008

Hi Dennis,

That is a really nice looking blog, is it one of the blogs that REW puts together? There is no option for Do-Follow is there.

Jim

February 4, 2008

Hi James,

Thank you, it is REW and I do have the option to make each comment do-follow or no-follow. I will be allowing most comments to be do-follow, although I have the option. If someone posts a good comment and their name is anchor text I will likely no-follow, if I know them I will likely change it to their name. I just don’t want it to look anything like a link farm. I think this is basically what most people are doing with do-follow Blogs.

February 12, 2008

Eric,

Thank you very much for this information. I have been looking for ways to get quality backlinks. This information is GREATLY appreciated. Best of Luck!!!

Johnny

February 12, 2008

Eric, the VAR (virginia assoc. of realtors) just started a blog recently I just campaigned them after reading this post http://varbuzz.com/this-valentines-day-discover-why-virginia-is-for-bloggers/#comment-59 to switch their blog to do-follow. Yay! So we’ll be able to add the VAR blog itself according to the response I received.

Thanks for informing us.

J

February 12, 2008

Jay -

They’re still nofollowing over there. Let me know when they go dofollow, and I’ll add them to the list.

Thanks for the head’s up!

Eric

February 18, 2008

Eric,

here is a link to my do-follow real estate blog. Please add me brother.

February 18, 2008

done!

February 18, 2008

Hi Eric,

You’re doing a great job with your blog; hopefully we can aspire to do the same….

I’m one of the co-founders of a social network exclusively for real estate investors and service providers (www.BlackWidowNetwork.com) and we wanted to ask if you’d be open to doing an article or two, with links back to your site etc. Maybe even be a guest blogger every now and then. Please get back to me if you’re open to contributing with some of your real estate insights, we’d be honored to pass them on to our growing membership base.

Our Blog is at: http://www.BlackWidowNetwork.com/blog – take a gander and see if it warrants being added to your do-follow list……

Yours with boundless enthusiasm,

Richard :)

Chief Deal Weaver

yay. I’ve converted my association’s regional blog into dofollow. Add http://varbuzz.com/ to your list.

VA is on the cutting edge of the web 2.0 community compared to most other real estate associations. I’d include a Virginia is for Bloggers photo but I don’t think img coding is allowed. It’s a play on our Virginia is for Lovers state slogan.

Wait to you see some of the stuff I’ve dealt with lately because of my blog. Although my article on a condo caused the builder to do a 180 and live up to their obligations to the buyer and I’ll send you a post on that soon.

J

February 19, 2008

@Jay – VERY cool. Drop a link to the Virginia is for bloggers image – I’d like to see it.

@Richard – I’d love to write for you guys. Drop me an email and we’ll proceed. With regards to adding the blog – right now, it’s not a dofollow. All of the comments are tagged w/ the nofollow attribute (unless I’m missing something.)

February 19, 2008

“Do Follow” real estate blog list? This is awesome! I’m inspired to create a “do follow” list for lawyers. Thanks for setting a good example.

February 22, 2008

Hi Eric. This is a great list! Thanks so much. My blog is a do follow if you want to add it to the list. Cheers!

February 22, 2008

Alrighty – just added you. If I might make a suggestion – you’re probably going to want to start hand moderating all comments. You’ll see an increase in participation, and you’ll also see an increase in spam comments. You don’t want to link out to any bad hoods.

Eric

February 22, 2008

Thanks for the tip Eric. That’s a good point! :)

February 24, 2008

Hey Eric. I use Firefox and have the SEO for Firefox tool set up where you can highlight ‘nofollow’ links. I couldn’t help but notice that some of the links here on your blog are nofollow and some are dofollow. My links appear to be nofollow here. Is that something where we have to post a number of comments before we get the dofollow status? Thanks a bunch!

February 24, 2008

Hey Holly! I get a fair amount of traffic, so I manage the dofollow w/ Lucia’s Linky Love. Here are my settings. It’s not a “set it and forget it” plug-in, you still have to hand moderate comments, but it will allow you to be more liberal letting first time commentators through.

BTW – check your links now, you hit 4 comments & you’re followed.

February 26, 2008

Thanks Eric! I just installed Lucia’s Linky Love and it’s all perfectly clear now. You are the deal!!

February 29, 2008

Hi Eric,

Can you add me to the list now I have just set the do follow up hope I have all the settings right I`ll give you a shout if need be.

Thanks,

Mark.

February 29, 2008

Hey Mark – I went to your site & couldn’t find the blog. Can you drop me a link?

February 29, 2008

Thanks Eric the do follow come into effect after a certain number of posts accoding to LLL.

Mark.

http://www.propertyportal.ae/blog/

February 29, 2008

I’ve gone to LLL (3 comment) since the beginning of you post as well.

March 3, 2008

Thanks for the add Eric :)

March 4, 2008

Eric, add my site to the list buddy.

Thanks

March 4, 2008

you got it, man!

March 18, 2008

Thanks for compiling this great list! As a real estate professional it is nice to have conversations I can participate in and yet still get a link back to my site.

March 28, 2008

These lists really do help me manage my time. I don’t mind leaving comments and suggestions especially when they are willing to add a “do follow” link in return.

March 30, 2008

Today I was searching for real estate blogs with do follow. I have already commented on one of your post before under greatest real estate agent in the world and I didn’t know that you have this list on your blog.

Thanks for sharing this list.

March 31, 2008

Hi Eric, I’d like to join the list.

http://www.housebeautifulnj.com/wordpress/

April 3, 2008

Hey Susan – you’ll need to use one of the many do-follow plug-in’s out there in order to get on the list. I checked out your blog, and it looks like you’re still no-following. Let me know if you need any help.

Please add my real estate blog, http://www.teamaguilar.com/blogs It’s a real estate blog for San Diego County and all of the blog comments are do follow links. It’s a very friendly blog for posting, talking about different real estate services!!!

May 2, 2008

We have a seasoned blog for San Diego Real Estate and we have do follow links for all blog comments. It uses a plug in from KeywordLuv that seems to work very nicely on the blog.

Can you please add http://www.teamaguilar.com/blogs/
to this list?

Thank you,
Alex

May 13, 2008

Sweet post. great idea. I am gonna begin checking out this list. Thanks

May 17, 2008

Hey Eric,

I would love to be included, my new blog that was launched on our Las Vegas Real Estate Website is:

http://www.SenaSellsVegas.com/blog

Let me know.

Thanks

May 18, 2008

Got it up!

May 22, 2008

Nice, I’ve been looking for a list of good dofollow real estate blogs. Thanks for the resource!

May 22, 2008

This is great! I’ve been looking for real estate blogs :) Mine is also do-follow if you’re interested in adding it! Thanks for making this list for everyone!

May 22, 2008

wow, there are more real estate blogs with do-follows are added on your list Eric.

I am creating one also and hope to be added on your list.

Great list man. It’s thanks to bloggers like yourself that i’m able to find such good backlinks for my site. And with me having a financial site, i need all the backlinks i can get.

Yes, a nice list indeed. It helps my real estate related sites with valuable sources.

May 26, 2008

What does a do follow actually mean?

Nice list. i always use the list when commenting. i learn a lot from real estate because of these real estate blogs.
Hope you add more to list.

Thanks trying to help out other real estate professionals with this list. However, I have one question for you. How come the links to these blogs are no follow on your site.

May 30, 2008

I’ve been looking for a list like this specific to real estate, thanks a lot!

June 1, 2008

@Milehighlistings.com – I nofollow them b/c I don’t personally know each site, and I don’t want the list to look like a directory.

June 9, 2008

Hey Eric,
Great site and idea!! After reading your site I started a do follow blog on my site. Can you add me to your list of do follow blogs?

June 11, 2008

Thanks for the list Eric! Great idea. I use my REW blog as my main blog, but I’ll work on getting my wordpress blog up to “no-follow” status.

June 22, 2008

this is a do follow website too..

July 3, 2008

Eric,

I just rediscovered your blog and I just wanted to thank you again for the service you are providing. I bet those blog owners get a ton of traffic by being on this list. I may question the likely hood of the traffic converting but hey all traffic is good traffic as it all has a chance of converting right!

Eric,
Thats a great list and great place to start for people looking to build relationships throughout the real estate community. People forget we are in a networking-relationship type of business. I must get at least 10 referrals a year from different Realtors throughout the country who have clients either leaving Michigan or relocating into Michigan. How do you think I got those referrals? It’s all about relationships and getting your name out there. I don’t think Real Estate agents actually stop and think that they can make money from other Realtors. Everyone always looks at each other as competition, when in realty unless a Realtor is in your immediate market, it can only benefit from you to help a fellow agent in the business and you will see how it comes back to you one day.

July 17, 2008

I think you should really start updating this list and making it an even better source of do follow blogs.

July 17, 2008

@Sam – I do update it whenever anyone sends me a blog. The list has grown quite a bit over the year.

So all you guys out there – send me your do-follow blogs!

July 19, 2008

Eric – Can you add me to your list of do follow blogs?

July 20, 2008

Eric – Thanks for visiting – did my blog pass the test?

July 25, 2008

Hi Eric,

This is a great resource, Can you as my new real estate blog to your list. It is http://www.nj-realestate-agent.com

Thanks,

Jim

July 25, 2008

Hi Paula! It doesn’t look like you have a do-follow plugin installed on your blog. All of the comments are nofollowed.

James – adding your new blog right now. Clean looking site! Knox did a good job!

July 25, 2008

Thanks Eric, I like it as well. It actually takes 3 comments to dump the no-follow on this blog.

Jim

Eric,
This might be hard to remember but how long did it take you to start gaining some PR from the time you started your blog? Did you notice a big difference in activity once you removed the No-Follow? I’m almost thinking it’s going to be very difficult to build an audience unless I remove the No Follow from my blog. Any thoughts?

July 25, 2008

Hey Mark -

My main site was PR4 before I started the blog, which made the blog instantly a PR3 (from internal linking) as soon as the bar updated.

If you’re starting a brand new blog, it’s just going to depend on how much time you invest in commenting around, and building content that others want to link to.

There are a lot of people (me being one) that never, or rarely comment on nofollow blogs. I really recommend removing the dofollow in one way or another (I like LLL b/c it discourages spammers.) You’ll see the participation go way up.

Eric,
You mean removing the “No Follow” right? Another question is when you first started your blog did you blog much more often than you do now? If I write a new blog once a week is that substantial enough to make a difference?

July 25, 2008

How fast your blog gains PR rank depends on how your put your blog together and how much time you spend posting to is as well as building a few links to it here and there.

My http://www.nj-realestate-agent.com blog became a PR5 blog about 30 days after I first started it, and has remained at that level since.

I very rarely comment or even read no-follow blogs anymore, just don’t have the time to spend on them, and so because they are no-follow even if the poster puts out really great content they are not going to reach the growing number of people like me. I would remove the NO-FOLLOW as well.

Jim

Yes. There are agents that come to this list and visit only these blogs to comment & get juice (and to interact.)

I used to blog more often on this blog. I’ve been blogging more about SEO lately at Bramblog.com, and about real estate industry stuff at BHB. I try to keep this blog Austin real estate specific.

I think that one blog/week is a good goal. You’ll get links/juice by simply commenting around on dofollows, but more importantly, you’ll start to build relationships, and your online credibility. If there’s a blog that you particularly like, ask them if you can guest blog there, and drop a few on topic links to something else you’ve written.

Submit your blogs to puurple.com, my pet project, and you’ll get more publicity. If you write something that you think appeals to a broader audience than real estate agents/enthusiasts, then submit to other sites like propeller.

It’s all about building true authority & relationships (which turns into PR in the eyes of google.) Going dofollow is a good way to join the conversation.

Can I use Lucia’s Linky Love on my REW blog or can it only be used for wordpress blogs?

July 25, 2008

I have been asking who puurple is; now I know!

July 25, 2008

Can I use Lucia’s Linky Love on my REW blog or can it only be used for wordpress blogs?

It’s written for WP blogs. I’m sure Morgan has, or could, put something similar together.

August 3, 2008

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your reply to my question under MileHighListings.com. The biggest problem I run into with blogging, is trying to find the time to comment on other blogs…let alone my own. However, I am very excited about a web project that is almost finished, which I feel will be an extremely useful resource for anyone in the real estate industry. This project has consumed the majority of my free time over the last 2 months and I can’t wait to share it. Stay tuned and again thanks for your efforts.

August 5, 2008

eric – I have a wordpress blog on my site but how do i know it’s set to nofollow or dofollow? also, what exactly is Lucia’s Linky Love? sorry in advance for the totally rookie questions.

August 6, 2008

Hey Michael -

WordPress comes “stock” as a nofollow blog. You’ll need to install a dofollow plugin to make it followed. Here’s a list of plugins that I like:

http://www.ericbramlett.com/blog/building-a-killer-wordpress-blog-preferred-plug-ins/

August 6, 2008

thanks Eric. after reading the posts, I see why you would want to install one of those plug ins if you ever want participation on your blog.

one more question… When you say word press comes stock as nofollow blog are you only referring to the links posted in the comments section? I assume my personal blogs with outgoing links in the primary article would be followed or are those links nofollow also?

August 6, 2008

On a stock WP blog, any link that an author posts will be followed. All comment links (user generated content) are nofollowed.

August 6, 2008

In the list, some of the blogs are highlighted in red. does this mean their status as dofollow has changed or were you trying to promote those sites over the others? in summary, what’s the red highlight for? sorry if this was already asked.

August 6, 2008

Weird…It wasn’t doing that in firefox, and I just checked it in IE and saw what you were talking about. It’s fixed. Thanks for the head’s up, Michael!

August 6, 2008

Has anyone tried to list all the dofollow sites along with the number of times you have to post on each one before you get link love? i guess it sounds a little tacky to ask that but with limited time, a smart person might choose just a couple of blogs to get actively involved in and why not pick the ones with fastest return?

August 6, 2008

Michael,
Thats a good question, but unless I am mistaken, 100 backlinks from the same site is nowhere near as significant as 100 backlinks from 20 sites. Assuming of course the PR’s of the sites are comparable. In other words if you go to a forum and post 300 times and get 300 backlinks, your backlink juice diminishes from that site because all your links are from one site and google recognizes that. So it’s better to be active in multiple sites than to just concentrate on one site and think you are going to get the same end result.

August 7, 2008

Eric,
Am I missing something or am I going crazy, but I swear I posted a reply to Michael Reilly’s question on comment #134 about just picking a couple blogs and just stay active on those to pick up all your backlinks rather than getting involved in many blogs.

Anyways I’ll repost my response. You would be much better off getting 100 backlinks from 20 different sites than to get 100 backinks from 1 or 2 sites. For example if you find a forum and get 500 backlinks from 500 posts, your backlink juice starts to diminish because SE’s realize all your links are from the same site.

August 7, 2008

Mark -

I apologize. I saw that comment hit my blackberry, and I thought that WordPress was letting your comments through without my approval…it should be. Regardless, your comment was waiting for my moderation. Sorry again.

August 7, 2008

thanks Mark. I’m new at this so I’m firing off a lot of questions. your answer was perfect and makes sense to become active in many blog communities. unfortuntately, I really liked Eric’s blog so i was hoping i could just hang out here everyday and get a few links without going anywhere else! ;)

August 7, 2008

Has anyone tried to list all the dofollow sites along with the number of times you have to post on each one before you get link love?

This would actually be pretty cool information to have.

@Mark – he’s referring to the Lucia’s Linky Love plugin that makes your comments go do-follow after XX comments (with the same anchor text & link.) For instance, mine is set to four – so you have to comment four times with the same anchor text & link before the comment goes to a follow.

So…the info would really help you prioritize your time, as in “I’m not going to Eric’s blog b/c I have to comment 4 times before I get juice. I will, however, go to Mark’s b/c I get juice after 1 comment.”

If you guys want to start letting me know the minimum comments per blog, I’ll be more than happy to post the information.

August 7, 2008

While I am all for link juice, I completely understand why some folks want a certain amount of participation on a blog before one earns their stripes.

August 7, 2008

It really allows me to be a little looser with letting comments through. Some of the spam commentators are really good at leaving 1 borderline comment and then disappearing forever. This way, I won’t accidentally throw a new commentator in the spam folder just b/c they didn’t write a novel on their first visit. Beyond that, people that care enough to leave a few quality comments typically have sites that they care about, as well, and that they link to. So…it helps me avoid linking out to bad neighborhoods without scrutinizing every person’s site who drops a comment on my blog.

August 7, 2008

Eric since you seem to be very knowledgeable with blogs and blogging. What would you suggest to use? I decided to use serendipity as it was offered through my hosting company, however I hate it. It looks like the majority of people on here use wordpress. Also what else can I do to get more people on my blog. I know you will probably say contribute to more blogs which I know I need to do. But what else can I do. My website http://www.milehighlistings.com has top rankings for the keywords I target (top 15 on google and better on other search engines) without a tremendous amount of link juice. Your words of wisdom are greatly appreciated. Thanks Merritt

August 7, 2008

I recommend going to WordPress for your blogging platform. It’s so pliable b/c of the number of fantastic plugins & widgets available for free.

A great way to encourage participation in your blog is to take it dofollow. I’m not familiar with serendipity, but it’s extremely easy to take WordPress dofollow.

Your first install will probably take you a little longer than 5 minutes, but not much. Regardless, here’s a link to their famous 5 minute installation.

Mysql database sound complicated, but they’re really not. I literally bumbled around in the control panel until I figured it out.

August 7, 2008

Thanks Eric! I will give wordpress a try. I have been leaning towards it for a while. I guess I was being a little lazy since I already using serendipity and didn’t want to switch.

As funny as this may sound I have a Computer Science degree and did all the web design and php/mysql development for the above mentioned website. However, blogging is something I have not explored very much. Probably due to the fact that I am constantly working on my website as well as occupied with my full time job as a mortgage broker. While I recognize its benefits, I have never been much of a writer.

Lastly, I am very excited about my latest project and hope many of you will find it extremely useful. Stay tuned!

August 7, 2008

Merritt -

You’ll love WordPress. I build sites for fun for family/friends, and I use it as CMS for the sites so that they can make modifications in the future w/o my help. It’s very SEO friendly out of the box, and with a couple of slight modifications it’s about as clean as you’ll get. All of my future sites will be built on WordPress (with the exception of some ecommerce sites.)

August 7, 2008

Wow, now this was a popular post. I know it got alot of love on REW but man never seen so many comments on one post. Anyways, I thought I would give you my site as it should now be do follow.

houstonhousingmarket.org

Thanks,

James

August 7, 2008

Can you build a site with php scripts running in the background? For instance for real estate searches? Can you provide a couple links of some recent sites you have built, I would be interested to see them. Thanks Eric

August 8, 2008

It would be useful to have that information, I’m just saying it’s not all about the quantity of backlinks. It’s better to get 1000 backlinks from many different sources than 1000 backlinks all from one site you were very active on. This again is assuming you are getting your backlinks from similar industry websites.

August 8, 2008

@Merritt -

Yes. You can accomplish pretty much anything with WP (pretty much.) I don’t have an example of an integrated RETS search, but I will soon. :) Here are a few examples:

http://www.nobugsatmackspest.com
http://www.pinpointpaint.com
http://www.onesourcemetro.com/blog – skinned to look identical to the site (will take the full site to WP when I get time.)

You’ll notice that the content on the top 2 isn’t all the way built out. I just build the site and then hand it off to the family member/friend to finish out. BTW – after you’ve installed the All In One SEO Pack, and changed the permalinks to /%postname%/ structure, there’s not much else you need to do to make sure it crawls, and you can easily control the pertinent title/tags.

August 8, 2008

@Mark -
You’re exactly right. I would take 100 links from different, on-topic sites over 1000 links from a single on-topic site any day of the week. That is, unless those 1000 links pointed to 1000 different pages on my site. ;)

@James -
You’re on the list!

August 8, 2008

@Eric-

Thanks for adding me

James

August 9, 2008

So, if I understand correctly, we would use a dofollow plugin to make our blog a dofollow blog. Than, we could use a plugin like LLL or dofollow/nofollow to help moderate the comments with rules, etc…

okay, sounds good. I’ll work on getting this done on a couple of my blogs today and than will report back with the URL’s.

August 9, 2008

I do have a question about this topic of comments and links. Webmasters prefer inbound one way links so they get link juice without giving any away. Why are webmasters not concerned about giving away link juice when it comes to comments. They are trading 1 outbound link for sometimes a 1 sentence comment that may not add much value. Is that detrimental? Do you suppose that even though you are giving out a lot of outbound links that the search engines see the multiple comments and give credit for them (lot’s of readers, etc..) and that neutralizes the pr bleed of so many outbound links?

August 9, 2008

Eric,

http://vancouver-home.info

and

http://localwebhost.net

are dofollow blogs. Please add to your list. thanks1

August 9, 2008

Eric,

I really like this list of real estate dofollow blogs and as you know I just made mine do follow. However, I have a question that perhaps you could expound on.

Trackbacks… It seems a comment left is beneficial to the commenter because it is a one way link. Whereas, a trackback is a reciprocal link. What is your opinion of trackbacks vs. comments.

From a webmasters point of view would you rather me leave a comment or do a trackback..write a post about a similar topic and trackback?

August 9, 2008

Wow those worpress sites are pretty nice and very economical. I didn’t realize how nice they could look.

August 10, 2008

Thanks for the links Eric! It looks like wordpress is very flexible and creates very clean sites. I look forward to working with it. Thanks again for your suggestions and I look forward to your future posts. Merritt

Eric,

You are welcome to include this dofollow site into the link list:
http://vancouver-home.info

August 20, 2008

Eric,

My site blog is also do follow, please include it in your list.

While I welcome valid comments and links from contributors, I will akismet any spam comments.

Post with care and thanks for offering this list :)

August 20, 2008

You’re good to go, Jennifer! I second “comment with care.” That DP post made me mad a little.

On a side note – agentgenius is no longer following their links.

August 20, 2008

Hi Eric,

I was able to get wordpress up an running in no time. I appreciate the advice and will let you know once it is completely up an running and dofollow. What was the DP post that pissed you off?

August 20, 2008

Hey Merritt – Glad to hear that you got WP up and going. You’ll be really happy with it.

Someone posted this list on DigitalPoint without crediting the site, and basically invited a bunch of spammers. It wasn’t too big an issue, but I didn’t appreciate it.

August 20, 2008

I understand. Thats to bad as I like DigitalPoints as a forum for SEO and marketing techniques.

August 20, 2008

DigitalPoint is okay, but watch out who you listen to there. There is quite a bit of noise.

August 20, 2008

Tons of noise. I actually haven’t been on it in a year or two as there is to much noise.

August 20, 2008

Eric – Speaking of the spammers from digital point… I was wondering how you combat that problem since you auto post the replies and offer a dofollow link. Do you use another plug in to help you with that problem?

August 20, 2008

Hi Eric, I was just looking at propertyportal.ae/blog and wondering if it is really a Do-Follow blog. Not trying to be a tattle tale or anything, but just wondering.

Jim

August 20, 2008

@James – it looks like he has Lucia’s Linky Love installed. I don’t know what the settings are, but you can tell since it has the comment count next to each commentator.

@Michael – Yes, DP is full of lots of misinformation, and very little good information. Tons of scam artist vendors, as well. I don’t go by there much at all.

With regards to the comment spammers: My settings require a first time commentator to receive approval. From there, their comments are automatically posted. I get maybe 2-5 comments/day, so it doesn’t take me but a minute to look at them (I like to respond, anyways) and throw a spammer into akismet hell if they’re taking advantage.

August 21, 2008

Hey Eric, I see you found the DP post. Like you I have seen a lot more crap comments since that was posted. I should have let you know about it when I found it, but I guess I new you would see it as well .

August 21, 2008

@Bramlett- I’d agree completely with the sentiments about DP. I really like SarahK (moderator there). She’s a friend. Mike Dammann also posts some stuff over there that is cool.

The problem (as you said) is the noise. Too much misinformation to go through to get to the good stuff,in my opinion.

August 22, 2008

James,

There are good reasons why you have a gray symbol next to your user name on REW and not green like the rest of us.

If you think it`s no follow dont comment on it like you tried to.

Mark.

August 22, 2008

Sorry to ruffle your feathers Mark,

Was only asking a question, not meaning to upset you or anything. Looks like you kicked the comments that I had left, Oh well that is fine.

Best of luck,

Jim

August 22, 2008

@Eric Blackwell – I didn’t know SarahK was a moderator. She’s good people, as is Mike D. Mike’s post count is ridiculous over there.

August 22, 2008

Unless the nashvillehomes.org/blog is using Lucia’s I don’t think it’s a dofollow. Look into it and let me know, but I didn’t see a comment counter next to my name and it’s showing up as nofollow

August 23, 2008

Thanks Mark. Pulling it down.

[...] If you’re looking for a little link love when contributing on real estate blogs, Eric Bramlett has compiled a Great list of DoFollow Real Estate Blogs. [...]

August 26, 2008

Add me to the list if you will – http://www.gulfshoreslife.com/blog

It is REW and I don’t see any backend controls. I pulled it up in Firefox with SEO and did not see any redbars, so I guess it is follow. If anyone can tell otherwise let me know and I will get it fixed.

August 26, 2008

Hey Cal -

I just checked it out. A couple of things: 1)There’s nowhere to enter your website below your name. 2)When I tried to manually enter a link in the comment, it stripped out the html.

Shoot Morgan an email, or ask on the forum. I’m sure they’ve dealt with this in the past.

Thanks a lot for putting this list together. It just made my day a bit easier.

August 26, 2008

Hey Eric,
I already have asked REW. I will post back here when it is fixed.

Thanks,
Cal

August 29, 2008

i don’t want to call anyone out but i looked all through
www. barbaralasky .com/tucson-real-estate-blog/ and couldn’t find any dofollow comments. all i saw nofollow. maybe you ahve to make 10 or more posts…

August 29, 2008

Thanks Michael. Removing it now.

August 30, 2008

This list needs to be reviewed. Many of these sites are nofollow.

August 30, 2008

Hi Kermit -

This list has always (and always will be) a work in progress. If you will comment which blogs aren’t following, I will check it out and remove them.

~Eric

August 30, 2008

Eric,

are you willing to put my dofollow website on your list?

http://vancouver-home.info

August 31, 2008

Great list eric, its kindoff outdated though,
propertyportal.ae and realestatebloglab are showing nofollow for me

thanks anyway
Ismail

September 1, 2008

My settings on LLL are after 5 posts it`s do follow just to be clear.

Thanks.

Great list. Very helpful and time-saving. Keep it up.

September 4, 2008

Great list, thanks Eric!

September 9, 2008

http://www.nuhomesource.com/blog/michael-pannell/

Will be a do follow very soon. I am waiting on REW to add the field.

If anyone would like to contribute please send me a email and i will add you as a writer.

info@nuhomesource.com

September 11, 2008

Hi Eric. Thanks again for the list, I’m now an follower of many blogs on the list.
I just transfered my hosted WP blog to a non-hosted WP platform. I’ve added the nofollow plugin and it seems to be working. Would love it if I could be added to the list, as I’ll be turning this into my main blog now.

http://www.bendhomesalesblog.com

Thanks,

Dylan

September 11, 2008

Yikes! Dylan, you’re nofollowing your whole site! Did you set it up yourself, or did someone help you with it? Shoot me an email if you would like some help.

September 11, 2008

@David -

Sorry for the late reply. Just left a comment – let me know when it’s approved.

We’ve also added http://www.wannanetwork.com/real-estate-bloggers to the list.

September 11, 2008

Eric,

Thanks for adding http://www.wannanetwork.com/real-estate-bloggers to the list :)

September 11, 2008

Eric,

One more request, can you add http://www.realestateoutpost.com to the list as well?

September 11, 2008

Got it!

September 11, 2008

Eric – great list and as many times as I’ve used it I never noticed this before, but for what it’s worth #8 and #31 are the same.

Thanks for putting this list together!

September 12, 2008

Wow. Just read all the comments for an easy education. Thanks for the list. I want to set up a blog, but will have to muddle through a lot to get it going.

Not too many blog posts are over a year old and still going strong!

September 12, 2008

Thanks Tina! Just cleaned it up.

Good to see you David! Let us know if there’s anything we can help you with on the blog.

September 12, 2008

Thanks Eric.

I am going stir crazy in my hotel on another long lay-over. Always a good time to do some website work, I suppose. As I have been meaning to set up a blog (meaning to upgrade my website, retire early, run a marathon, create world peace, etc…), I will probably take you up on the offer.

This is an AWESOME list. Thank you very much Eric.

September 13, 2008

Eric, can you please add realtyrankings.com to your dofollow linst, I’ve also added commentluv.

September 13, 2008

Got it, Rich. How many comments before you follow?

September 13, 2008

I’ve set it to three comments.

September 16, 2008

My comment spam from people looking for links has gone thru the roof this last week with many citing this list (can I get it removed?). I use greg’s do follow plug in that allows me to control at the post and comment level.

September 16, 2008

Got it, Bob. Personally, I’m heavy handed w/ the akismet spam button to handle it. It’s not so bad – maybe 1-2 crap comments/day.

September 17, 2008

I dont write for real estate agents. I have 3-4 blog posts with close to 1000 comments, and very few are from people in the industry, so I am not in need of comments. Most of the agent comments are just looking for links. If it is intelligent, it stays. If it is obvious that it is just about the link, then it gets no-followed (greg’s plugin is real slick). If it is a worthless AR type comment, it gets deleted.

If you want to get a link, then engage in the conversation to the point that someone would want to respond to your comment. If you are in the industry, then bring something of value to the conversation without sounding like the stereotypical real estate agent that the world doesn’t like anyways. Don’t reinforce the stereotype.

Use the opportunity to stand out to the point where you not only get a link, but compel someone to click through. If you know something about the subject and have written about it, then by linking to that piece, you expand the opportunity to get more links because someone found it valuable. This works even if the link is no-followed.

September 19, 2008

Hi Eric,

I think I’ve got the nofollow off my blog now. Please check it out. Thanks.

September 19, 2008
September 19, 2008

You’re up, Dylan!

September 19, 2008

Thanks Eric. Now I need to get blogging!

September 27, 2008

No miamism.com?

October 5, 2008

techforagents is showing as a no follow now. It is number 2 on the list. Check it out and correct me if I am wrong, but every comment is showing up as a no follow.

October 5, 2008

Yeah – Steve actually emailed me to let me know he was going back to nofollow, but I forgot to remove it. Thanks for the reminder!

October 5, 2008

Eric,
Why does it show that I am a new comment when I have commented on your blogs many many times?

October 5, 2008

It takes LLL an hour or so to process the comment and recognize the # of comments – check out my comment, it will say it, as well.

October 10, 2008

How do we know, or where do we look to see if a blog is do follow? Do blogspot bloggers change ‘no’ to ‘do’?
Thanks for the list Eric Bramblett.

October 13, 2008

Thank you for the list. Its hard to find a dofollow blog for comments nowadays.

October 18, 2008

Amazing the number of comments on this thread. Eric I can’t thank you enough for putting this list together. When you have minute plase add my blog to the list. http://allphoenixhomesforsale.com

My blog is now a do Follow Blog. Please add me to the list and come visit my blog. I also need guest bloggers for content. No local Comp Please

www. bonusagents.com/ blog This is not a Do Follow Blog, It has a no Follow tag on it

October 20, 2008

@Gary – you’re listed!

@Mike – Can you please link me to your blog? I went to your main site & didn’t see a link to it. Thanks for the head’s up on bonusagents, I’ve removed it.

October 23, 2008

good list, lots of info
definitely going to add this to my favorites tab

October 29, 2008

@West Hampstead – look for the nofollow tag in the page source so you’ll know if a blog is nofollow or not. If you have seo for firefox plugin, it would be easier.

Thanks for this great list, Eric. Very useful.

November 6, 2008

@Eric – I have another do follow blog using LLL that I would like you to add to your list. http://houstonhomessource.com/blog

Thanks

November 9, 2008

Eric,

Please ad my blog (www.cedarcityonline.com/blog) to your list. I am using lucia so you will need multiple comments to see no follow removed.

November 10, 2008

Got ‘em both. Sorry for the delay.

November 10, 2008

Eric,
I think most everyting is working and ready to go. Do follow is on with Lucia’s in place. Requires multiple comments.
http://www.mygulfcoastbeachteam.com

Thanks,
Cal

November 12, 2008

Eric, please add http://www.lesende.com/blog to the list. I am using LLL. Thanks.

November 13, 2008

Hey Eric, #24 upstart agent is no-follow. They had Top Agents plugin that was do-follow and even that is gone now.

November 14, 2008

Thanks Dennis. Hector, just added you.

Can you have these plugs in added to REW blogs. How many comment does someone have to post to be DO-Followed

November 14, 2008

Mike, I have a REW blog and I had them make it so I have the ability to do-follow or no-follow each comment. With REW it is not a plugin, but programing time to make it do what you want it to do.

November 17, 2008

braxtonbeyer comment submit seems broken. At least for me. I tried twice and was taken to a blank page.

November 17, 2008

Worked fine for me…

November 29, 2008

Excellent Collection!

December 9, 2008

Nice compelation of do-follows. Is adding more of these better or will you look a little spammy? Just curious. Thanks!

ryanwardrealestate.com/WordPress is no longer active

December 10, 2008

Hey Mike -

I talked to Ryan, and he said he’s still welcoming relevant comments on that blog. He’s ordered a new REW blog for that site, and I will update the information when it’s available.

December 10, 2008

3 of 3 I checked are NOFOLLOW.

December 10, 2008

Hey Tom -

Would you care to let us know which blogs you think are nofollow? Many webmasters (myself included) use LLL, which requires a specific # of comments before they go dofollow.

December 11, 2008

Great list. You are doing a huge service for many of us. Feel free to add our blog to your list.

http://blog.freehomerefi.com/

December 13, 2008

Excellent advice thank you. I have a real estate site in Italy…most blogs in Italy are No Folllow

December 14, 2008

How many comments to remove the No Follow, I am thinking of having rew create me something like that also.

December 15, 2008

Hey Mike -

Diff’t sites have diff’t policies. Here, it’s 10 comments to remove the nofollow.

December 16, 2008

Cool thanks, i need to get something added to mine to make it like 5 or so

December 17, 2008

Please add this site to your list- http://www.atlantahomerealtor.com/blog

Its new and it should be do-follow. If anyone see that it’s not let me know. I’m new to this Pivot blog!

December 18, 2008

Hi Eric, I am using the keyword luv plugin on the blog below. Feel free to add it to the list.

http://humblehomesforsale.com

December 20, 2008

James it wont let me post comments on there. i get an error

December 21, 2008

Mike,

What kind of error do you get because it works fine for me? And it seems to be working fine for all the spammers.

December 21, 2008

Jodi,

Before you spend to much time promoting your domain name I thought I would key you in on the fact you are missing using the realtor in your domain name. You should look into the rule that you can use the name associated with your name but not a city name.

December 21, 2008

That’s a great point, James. Jodi, I would recommend picking out another domain name & 301 redirecting the old to the new.

December 21, 2008

Jodi,

Just so you know I personally could care less what you use for your domain name I am just trying to help. I do not want to see you get in any trouble and feel like we should be a community that helps take care of each other. Kind of like Mike did by letting me know that he had trouble commenting on my blog.

December 21, 2008

Eric,

I know you probably already have noted that blog posts stay around longer in the index when they recieve comments. In fact I have noticed that a post with alot of comments seems to move up even without any back links built. This could just be because it is great content however it seems to happen pretty consistently. I figured that this point might just be good food for thought for those that have been considering using do follow to encourage quality comments.

Try it in FF, I will look in a bit and see if i can see what it was.

Jodi, They will get you for that domain. You dont want to waste alot of time & Money marketing it

Error: Please press the back button and fill the required field for spam protection.

http://www.tampa-real-estate-blog.com/ Has errors, When you try to post a comment it goes to a 404 page

December 22, 2008

Mike,

Thanks alot buddy I will get it fixed I think it has problems because of the math based comment deal. Looks like it isn’t working right.

December 22, 2008

Eric,
Just came across this list, and I love it. Wish I could get a list like this for every niche that I work in. Thumbs up!

realtyrankings.com looks to ne a NO Follow Blog. I have 11 comments and it is a no follow

December 23, 2008

Mike,

My humblehomesforsale.com site should have the comments working now. I would love to see you stop by.

Cool, i will head over there now. I will tell you what i come up with.

James it is fixed…

December 25, 2008

Yeh, what is up with http://www.realtyrankings.com Their contact page goes no-place as well.

December 26, 2008

Hey guys -

I’m out of town for the holidays, but will update this list by the end of the weekend, adding the people listed above, and removing the blogs that you guys have identified as nofollow.

Thanks for everyone’s participation!

December 26, 2008

Hey Eric,

Do you have a contact at http://www.realtyrankings.com that you can ask why they switched back to no follow without saying anything? Seems kind of sneaky really.

December 27, 2008

You have a great list going. My site, SteamboatHomeSales.com, is a do-follow blog.

December 27, 2008

@James – RE:realtyrankings.com – the comments are dofollow after a few comments, and if your comment name is below a specific # of characters. This is to discourage keyword stuffing in comment names. I believe Richard from VIP Realty in Dallas runs the site. You know him from the REW forums. Please feel free to PM or email him. He’s doing nothing sneaky.

@everyone else – thanks for your input! Making the changes now! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

i am sure realtyranking is a no follow also. I have 12 comments and still a no follow

December 27, 2008

@Mike- Please read what Bramlett said thoroughly. It appears that Richard is limiting the number of characters you can have in your name. By my count you have 30. He can still be do follow and have limits on the anchor text. It is a practice that I encourage my clients to do in order to stop keyword stuffing in comment names.

December 27, 2008

The default LLL settings (which most people use, and which do a damn fine job deterring spammers) require at least 3 comments, and a name with less than 15 characters. If I were to guess, Richard is probably using these settings.

December 27, 2008

Yeah my bad, I guess i will have to shorten my name.

December 27, 2008

@ Mike, yes its a dofollow

realtyrankings.com/real-estate-link-building-%E2%80%93-the-popularity-contest.htm

Dylan is followed, the rest are not. I’m check the exact settings and post them here. However, I definitely don’t want spam!

December 27, 2008

RealtyRankings settings:

Enter the number of matches when comment links become do follow: 3

Permit ‘dofollow’ in ‘names’ with fewer than 15 characters.

Eric nailed it!! :)

December 27, 2008

propertyportal has a webattacker on it. Do not click on the link. My virus scan just caught it. If anyone knows them they should let them know that it has a bug.

December 27, 2008

@James – I’m friends w/ Mark and have forwarded your comment to him. What do you mean by “webattacker?”

December 27, 2008

That was the name AVG gave the malignant software on his site.

December 27, 2008

Hey my real name is more than 15 characters. I understand the concept but it definitely works against people with longer names. There must be some sort of manual settings though because it looks like my comments are followed here. Just wondering if I need to modify my name when I’m commenting on other blogs.

December 27, 2008

Funny…you’re the reason I actually bumped my settings to 20 characters. I appreciate your participation, and noticed that all of your comments were nofollowed b/c of the default settings.

I would recommend shortening your name to <15 characters on other LLL blogs. Maybe C Gjerde-Tu or Carolyn G-T (that one sounds kind of like a car!)

December 27, 2008

Wonder how many do-follow comments I’ve lost out on – oh well, I’m pretty random where I comment so probably not worth the effort to check. Was clueless about the 15 character thing.

Anyway, just got LLL up with 3 comments for my new blog, http://www.itkeepsyourunning.com

December 29, 2008

Yeah i am glad Eric told me what i was doing was wrong. I have since shortened my name and kinda of started over. I am new to this and am learning.

December 29, 2008

Now I can pronounce Carolyn’s name! LOL

December 29, 2008

I was thinking the same thing. LOL

December 29, 2008

Well…I am sure that at least Eric will give Carolyn her link love.

December 30, 2008

Cal – I don’t understand why people have trouble with my name – there must be tons of other people with Norwegian/Chinese names. Tu is like the number 2 btw.

James – You should watch it or I won’t give you any more advice about your site.

Sorry Eric, contributing to the noise on this thread.

December 30, 2008

I got the Tu part, it was the other I couldn’t figure. I am thinking Jerdee Two, is that close? Thought it might be Dutch, but Norwegian works for me.

December 30, 2008

Carolyn,

I would love to spare some link love your way since I appreciate your advice and feedback but you never bother to comment on my sites. Sniff, sniff!

December 30, 2008

You guys & Gals are crazy. Any one have any advise for me?

December 31, 2008

http://www.stpaulrealestateblog.com is this really a do follow? I dont think so.

January 3, 2009

Eric,
Just learned about this list, and it’s great. I only wish there was a list specifically dedicated to the Los Angeles real estate market just like this. Thanks for this great tool

January 12, 2009

Hi Eric,

I just had REW change my blog to a dofollow can you add me to the list? Thanks, Tina

http://www.tinafountain.com/blog/

January 13, 2009

Hi Eric,

We’re setting up our blog to be DoFollow.

http://blog.domaindrivers.com/

I think responsible blogs SHOULD be dofollow. Discounting legitimate links is not in the spirit of the WWW, reagadelss fo what Google wants.

Hi Eric,

I was Googling from 2 days for such GOLD MINE list & came to know about you from here : http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/thread18013.html

Many thanks for the list – nor it is useful but it conveys the message to many bloggers – if visitor is reading your story & spending some time on your blog & in exchange if you favor them with Link which doesn’t cost you penny then what is the problem.

Google please Notice this too !

January 16, 2009

Hey Eric,
I would like you to consider my http://www.washington-real-estate-news.com/ blog for consideration in your list. Originally, I was on the list but removed it as I was concerned about spam, however, I’m ok with it now. With the exception of only a few (always that 1%) no one is spamming these things. Anyway, if you would consider it, that would be great. I have Lucia’s Linky Love installed (I think correctly), so I should be good to go. ~ Joe :o )

January 16, 2009

Okay…I think I got everyone.

@Dirk Johnson – This is a real estate specific list, or I would love to add your blog. If you google around, you’ll find tons of “open” dofollow lists, and once you’re listed on one, you’ll be listed on tons of them.

Thanks guys!

EB

January 16, 2009

Oh – one more thing. If you like this list, blog about it and link to it! The more people that know about dofollow, the more people that will take their blogs dofollow!

January 16, 2009

Hi Eric,

OK – no problem. Thanks for clarifying your policy.

Can you give some advice? I am using a WP blgo platfor, but it is installed by my host, at blog.domaindrivers.com

I have looked all through my control panel for a way to remove the “nofollow” attribute.

Do I need a specific plugin that might not be in my list of host-provided plug-ins?

January 16, 2009

Dirk -

Yes, you will need to install a dofollow plugin. I recommend Lucia’s Linky Love. You should have FTP access, which would allow you to upload whatever plugins you would like.

January 16, 2009

Thanks for the inclusion Eric. Is there a standard nowadays for the number of posts before a nofollows are removed? :o )

January 16, 2009

Whatever keeps the spammers away and keeps you sane!

January 19, 2009

I do like the WP all seo pack that allows the options of the do and no follow links, dependent of the authors choice. My Propertyinsantacruz.com blog is the best. I have not used the linkylove plugin. Is there any conflict or duplication with the all in one seo pack?

January 19, 2009

I’m glad you mentioned the two plugins Gregg. I have the same two and when I upgraded to WP 2.7 both were deactivated. I’ve re-activated them just now and they seem to work just fine. Without the SEO plugin, all my titles had reverted back to the default blog title. Bummer!

January 22, 2009

Eric has done a great job with this list. Keep up the good work eric

January 24, 2009

Hey – thanks for stopping by! I checked it out, and it looks like you have it set up on blogger. I don’t know if there are any dofollow plugins for blogger, but you’re not a dofollow right now. If you need any help w/ WP, let me know!

January 26, 2009

Eric,
I think realtyrankings.com is now a NO FOLLOW. Let me know if I’m mistaken. Thanks

January 26, 2009

Scott, yes you are mistaken.

January 26, 2009

Cool list Eric! I have been using it daily for great real estate info.

Thanks for the list!

January 30, 2009

Please add me. Great idea

January 30, 2009

I have just Thought-Am I do Follow?How do I know?

January 30, 2009

Hi Solie,
If you do not know if you are dofollow, then you probably are not. Simply copy a comment into a html editor and look at the source code. Look for rel=”nofollow”

January 30, 2009

Eric,
I just realized Lucia’s Linky Love is triggered by the email address. Correct?

January 30, 2009

Yeah, it tracks the email address + URL. You’ll want to stick with one email address for commenting. Also, LLL takes an hour or so once a comment has been posted for it to recognize the criteria, and credit the # of posts.

I wish they had a “whitelist/blacklist” plugin that would allow you to follow any links to specific URLs, and nofollow any links to specific URLs. That way, I could make sure to follow anyone that I trust 100%, and nofollow PR black holes like wikipedia, twitter, etc…

January 30, 2009

Thanks Eric,
I’ve been using 2 email addresses, not only here but elsewhere. Oh well. To be clear, the plugin tracks BOTH the email address AND url? Also, I’m still getting the blue thing at the top of my browser that I sent the screenshot about.

January 30, 2009

Yes – email address + URL. It keeps people from getting past the comment threshold, and then linking to spammy stuff.

Thanks for the email. <1% of my visitors user Firefox 2.X, so we decided to stop supporting it (the blue thing is a browser issue – if you upgrade to FF3.X, it will render properly.)

I can’t wait for my users to get off IE6! That browser is a HUGE pain to debug!!!

January 30, 2009

I get it, I need to stop clicking the “later” button when asked if I want to upgrade. :)

February 7, 2009

You have a massive list with excellent post. I desire to join you in regularly basis.

February 13, 2009

Great post,I’m really glad you mentioned the two plugins Gregg. While I am all for link juice, I completely understand why some folks want a certain amount of participation on a blog before one earns their stripes. It makes sense that one merits the credit. Thanks Paul

February 16, 2009

Thank you for such a grand list of real estate blogs… thx a lot again.

February 16, 2009

Cool list Eric! I have set it as a favorite and have been visiting it daily for great real estate information. Keep up the great work.

February 19, 2009

awesome list you have here

February 27, 2009

Hey Eric,

Can you ad my two blogs?

http://www.UlsterCountyLiving.com/blog/
http://www.LouLynch.com

Thanks
-Lou

Good list. I notice that some of the blogs have reverted to no-follow though.

This is a very helpful list. I bookmarked a couple of the sites already. Many thanks.

I was looking over some of the sites and I see a lot of nofollow in there. Have some of the sites changed since you posted this?

March 18, 2009

Some of these need to be looked at. Some are no follows again.

April 8, 2009

thanks. Let me ask you, if I use 000web(free hosting) subdomain, will it rank as high as wordpress?

I want to thank you for this list. I’ve been googling “dofollow blogs” for the last couple of days and getting no where.

April 17, 2009

Mighty list, Thanks! I appreciate the value of your content greatly!

April 17, 2009

Hi Eric,

Can you plz add my blog, http://www.CherryCreekToday.com? I just installed LLL and a couple of the other plug-ins on your list.

Thanks, Brian

My Blog is: http://reinvestors.wordpress.com/

wow, thanks Eric for the list. This will be a big help for us.

Thanks for compiling this list and for adding me to your blogroll, Eric! I keep this list open on my computer every day and use it as a guide for finding high quality blogs to comment on.

May 5, 2009

Hi Eric,

Blackwell says I need to add myself to this list. Could you please add http://www.arizonarealestatehome.com?

Hi Eric,

Throw me on that pile…

http://reinvestors.wordpress.com/

Thanks!!

May 11, 2009

Unless things have changed, I don’t believe that wordpress.com blogs have any dofollow plugins installed. Please correct me if I’m mistaken.

Thanks a lot Eric, I’ve been looking for a list like this for a while!

Thanks again

May 13, 2009

Anyone know of any European or Spanish property blogs with dofollow plugin?

Would be interested to know of any, thanks in advance.

Hey Eric, thanks for this list. There are some great do-follow list out there, but this is the best RE-do-follow list that I’ve found. Thanks again.

May 19, 2009

It looks like varbuzz is no longer a do follow. That’s too bad.

May 25, 2009

Hi Eric

I have just added the do-follow plug in to my wordpress blog on myweb site, a blog about Real Estate market, tips, guides, links, software and other I think is fun.
You can find it at http://www.sundream-estate.com/blog/

Thanks and keep it up.

May 28, 2009

Eric,

We just added the word press dofollow plugin to our blog. We’d appreciate being added to your list of dofollow blogs. Our blog address is http://www.johnsonteamrealestate.com/blog

June 5, 2009

Great list! Thanks for sharing! If anybody is interested in doing a link exchange on their blogroll my email is scott grace at eastlink.ca

June 28, 2009

Eric. I look to your website for inspiration! Thank you so much for all these do follow blogs. I just wanted to personally tell you how grateful I am to be on your web page and learn all of this information you have offered everyone.

June 29, 2009

Thanks Eric. It is a fine line when trying to add to a discussion as well as promote your own self interests. I myself have used keywords as my author name as this is an easy way to get the correct anchor text link to your own site. Which is very powerful from an SEO standpoint. I think doing that has become rather transparent and I will from now on just use my name and contribute as well.

July 1, 2009

All this links are not true do follow, they have javascript links on it…

July 2, 2009

Thanks Eric for taking your time to do this list.

overall great points of view from Blackwell as well as Bramlett. I can see how either of your systems would work well. I like how respectful of seo Eric is.

Great list you have posted. It’s a great help for me as I was going to do SEO for real estate sites for my client.

Thanks :)

Very Great List that you post here, thanks for helping us

July 18, 2009

Nice long list Eric. Is it wrong for me to suggest ‘RealEstateIndustryWatch.com’ as another do follow blog. I could aso recommend http://www.ericblackwell.us. Thank You so much for the informative website.

July 19, 2009

this information is very helpful thank a lot :)

July 21, 2009

This is a very helpful list. I have bookmarked several of the sites. Thanks a bunch.

July 22, 2009

Hi Eric,

I am not sure if you are updating this list anymore but I made http://www.realestaterag.com a dofollow blog. Thanks.

July 22, 2009

Hey Marc -

Yes, I’m still updating it, but I do so every few weeks. Running through the comments and updating now. How are things in Sarasota?

July 22, 2009

Everything is updated. Let me know if anything looks out of sorts.

July 23, 2009

Eric,

Thanks so much for adding our blog to your list. We are # 58. It doesn’t matter however on the list it is mis-spelled. The link opens up properly though.

Thanks again.

Rich Johnson

July 23, 2009

Sorry about that – fixed now.

July 23, 2009

Hey guys -

I just installed the “tweet this” button on the blog. If you guys like the list, hit the button!

July 23, 2009

Thanks for keeping up the list, Eric. This is going to sound harsh I do think there is a link or two that don’t belong on such a high quality list, however. If someone makes frivilous, inconsequential, or self-serving comments over and over again on other people’s blogs – despite those comments not being published – they really don’t deserve the traffic. Just my two cents worth.

July 23, 2009

Hey Jolenta -

I really don’t want this to turn into a place where we out the spammy commentators. Just mark them spam on akismet, and they will get what they deserve.

July 29, 2009

My worry with this system is that everyone will turn to the follow only sites and then google will look silly when half the web that dont use follow only get 2 comments a month now!
but, needs are needs, and thank you so much for the list!

August 2, 2009

Your welcome to leave valid / related comments on my real estate website New Homes Sale

August 4, 2009

i like the list thanks :)

Hi Eric,
I’m out looking for back links and its such a chore to do. Thanks for this page hopefully I can move up in the rankings a bit once I leave a few comments.

August 5, 2009

Hi Eric,

Please add http://gilbertrealestateforsale.net and http://chandlerrealestateforsale.net.

Thanks and keep up the great works!

August 11, 2009

Thanks for do follow blog list.

August 12, 2009

It helps to make sure the blog has a page rank as well so that you are not waisting time commenting at a site that has good PR on its home page but 0 on its comment page. I utilize this site to check page rank before I post(it is not my site). http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php
Thanks for your list!

Great do follow real estate blog list. Thanks for putting together these useful real estate blog links.

October 27, 2009

Wow. Over a year later and still getting a ton of comments. Eric, you really hit a home run on this one. I get the drip emails stating a new comment has been made and it makes me smile every time. Congrats.

October 27, 2009

Oops. Check that. Two years! Awesome.

October 27, 2009

Got it, Sam!

October 27, 2009

Hi David -

To my knowledge, blogspot doesn’t allow any dofollow plugins. I checked your site, and the comments look like they’re nofollow. Let me know if you’d like any help setting up a hosted WordPress blog & installing a dofollow plugin.

Thanks for stopping by!

October 27, 2009

Thanks! Tons of participation on this one, which I think is great!

Great List, but please review the list again some are not do-follow blogs, thanks

October 27, 2009

The list is a collaborative effort. If you see anything nofollowing, please double check to make sure they aren’t using LLL, and then post here if it’s a hard nofollow blog.

Thanks!

Eric

October 28, 2009

Hi Mike, Do you have a current list? This list is like 2 years old and has been added and subtracted some many times I don’t know what is what? Thanks, Matt

October 28, 2009

Matt -

The list above is updated. I continually modify it as people give feedback through comments.

October 29, 2009

Hi Eric,

Can you please add my blog to your do-follow blog list. It is http://www.irvinerealestatelink.com/blog

November 2, 2009

almost two years after the original post, but great list, thank you! I’m new to this link building thing, so very helpful!

November 2, 2009

This is absolutely a very helpful post from you Eric. The list continues to grow longer and longer.

November 4, 2009

Great list. Thanks for putting these Do-Follow real estate blogs together. It’s quite useful resource.

Very useful list, but please review it to keep them good and fresh

November 15, 2009

WHY WOULD YOU NOFOLLOW the DOFOLLOW BLOGS!!!!!!!??????

You might as well take your pagerank, throw it in a barrel, and blow it up. You are wasting your pagerank on nothing when you use nofollow, not to mention showing disrespect to all those blogs you listed.

November 15, 2009

Hi Tommy. I keep this blog list as a service to other real estate agents looking for dofollow blogs, and it’s a collaborative effort. I don’t have the time to personally check out every blog to make sure it’s quality – I give them the once over to make sure they’re RE related and dofollow. The websites that I’m familiar with get plenty of love from my site.

Not sure about the whole “blowing up my pagerank” analogy. I’m more concerned about taking on a penalty by linking out to a questionable site. For example, a site that was listed had been sold off for a few months before someone noticed, and I was very happy that I hadn’t linked to it during that time.

November 16, 2009

Another one is http://www.spanishpropertyresources.co.uk/ that is good for the European and Spanish estate agents out there.

November 17, 2009

Hi Eric, thanks for providing the list. I am creating a few do-follow real state oriented blogs soon, I will send you the links when they are available.

That’s hilarious! (worthless AR type comment) are you referring to Activerain? I’d say there are a high percentage of comments there that make the writers look as dumb as a rock. Then, if you do make an intelligent comment and leave a backlink, the blog author will skip over 25 “mee toooo!” comments and email you ranting about your “spam” even if you wrote a short novel adding all kinds of value. What’s it come down to? 25 points per comment. Yeah? me too! I’ll take 25 points! (do they add any weight to your linkjuice?) I don’t have a clue where a real estate agent could actually post anything meaningful about real estate. I feel sorry for the ones that feel obligated to stick to the topic of the RE market. The ones that diverge can be pretty interesting. Good topics on AR get followed up with good comments too.

November 21, 2009

Thanks for the amazing list Eric. I was searching for such a list for the past few days and found your post yesterday. Really it is helping me a lot in my work.
Thanks for sharing goo resources.

November 23, 2009

Great job. I am a Founding Partner in Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty we post about news and opinions on the top tier real estate market in Atlanta. I just moved to Intense Debate and utilize the newly minted CommentLuv plugin specifically for Intense Debate..out about 10 days ago. I like Intense Debate’s callout and listing of your latest blog post under your information. Of course only quality comments will get through but so far it seems like a great combination and a nice way to say thanks for the support.
My direct url is http://cheririleysblog.com
Would really appreciate being added to the list.
Best,
Cheri

November 25, 2009

HI Eric,

This is a terrific list, and I was wondering if you could add my new blog to the list.

The url is wesellcachevalley dot com, if you have any questions please feel free to email me. :)

Thanks!

November 28, 2009

Hey guys -

Sorry for the delay. Three more blogs added to the list.

My blog is do follow but you need to post in HTML.

[...] Linky Love – I run a dofollow real estate blog, but it’s very far from a “free for all.”  This is the most flexible dofollow [...]

December 5, 2009

Good work Eric, quite a list.
I have two blogs I’d like to Add, and a couple thoughts on spam… first
Charlotte Real Estate
and CharlotteCommunities

As for spam, Akismet Plus moderation, but Akismet first, second and third

Commenters on my sites are welcome to use their keywords as their name, just leave a meaningful comment- like you’ve read the first paragraph anyway, otherwise it won’t moderate. Not more than one link internal either. Thanks.

December 7, 2009

Hi Eric,

Thanks for adding my blog url to your list of do follow blogs. I just wanted to let you know that you have my website url at the moment. Although there is a link to my blog on the front page, to get to my blog directly you have to add a forward slash and blog. see below please.

irvinerealestatelink.com/blog

thanks and happy holidays.

December 9, 2009

Thanks for the list! its been extremely helpful!

December 16, 2009

Wow, great list! Exactly what I was looking for. But one thing, are you sure they`re all still dofollow? Had some problems with a couple of them.

December 19, 2009

Hey Eric,
Do you still need to upload a WP blog to your own hosting server to use the plug ins? I am getting a WP blog set up now and wasn’t really sure. I’m still new with WP and do follow link stuff.

December 22, 2009

Hey Eric,

Thanks for the list :)

December 28, 2009

Thanks for the list!

Also, thanks for adding http://boiserealestatesoup.com to the list as well!

Happy New Year!

December 29, 2009

Eric,
You can add us to the list as well. We help developers market destination real estate and have a lot of blogs on crm, seo, real estate plugins, etc.

December 29, 2009

Eric,
i forgot to add my url, http://www.hillmullikin.com/blog

Hi Eric,
This is a great idea. Thanks in advance for adding me to your list.

Debbie

So this is where people get list from. lol

I’ll have read up more. Nice site by the way. We are just getting a blog started if you would like to add it. http://www.pacific-beach-real-estate.com/blog.

February 11, 2010

Eric,

I would like to thank you for putting this list together. It really helps local realtors like myself by gaining links and also I have gained a new outlook on how to present data through different types of graphs. Just the knowledge I’ve gained from reading through all the blogs is more valuable then any class I could take on interent marketing. Again Thanks.

February 15, 2010

It’s my good fortune top have stumbled across this just today. Thanks for putting together this list. Very Helpful.

February 15, 2010

I think you’ll find that a lot of the owners of those blogs won’t be thanking you once their spam comment level starts rising.

February 22, 2010

Regardless of whether or not a blog is do-follow or not you’ll have to deal with spam. That is why it’s important to to ensure you have a good spam filter installed on your blog.

I believe it helps bloggers to not only gain a larger following but increases the number of RELEVANT comments over time.

Thanks for the post.

February 24, 2010

Great resource list. We would love to be added to your list Glenwood Luxury Apartment Rentals Blog Thanks!

March 3, 2010

Hey Eric -
Going through some of these links, I noticed that the vast majority of blogs you mention are no longer do-follow. I guess most of these guys got tired of dealing with all the crap comments that come with being included on such lists.

March 8, 2010

I found more useful blogs in this listing so thanks for sharing this info.

March 10, 2010

Hello Eric…..
the list you provide some of them are finished, but many of them are worked for me.
thnx alot.

is this still a dofollow blog? the page source looks like a lot of nofollow stuuf

March 19, 2010

Hi Eric,

Great resource, can you add http://LAsouthbayRealEstate.com to your list.

March 19, 2010

Eric,

Many thanks for this great resource.

It seems that most of the blogs have become nofollow now but that is most likely due to the idiot spammers who can’t be bothered to actually provide value in their comments.

Blog commenting for links is very much a two way street.

Still, you’ve obviously spent a lot of time on this list at some point and it is very much appreciated.

March 24, 2010

Hi Eric,

Does your 20 character rule for Lucy LL apply to URL names?

Thanks Eric for taking the time to put this together, it’s a great resource for Real Estate related blogs.

April 5, 2010

This method is going to go the way of reciprocal links sooner or later. It is best to keep this to a limit and find other ways of creating inbound links.

April 11, 2010

Well said, Eric. I have been getting more and more spam comments on my blog, which are nowhere near related to the topic at hand (it could be a post about property taxes and they try to comment about butterflies in madagascar!!!). Anyway, good point.

April 13, 2010

Wow guys! This is really awesome. I’m glad I’ve found this post. This is really helpful. Happy link building! :)

April 13, 2010

It would be nice if some of the commentators on this blog made their own blogs dofollow. If everybody here made their blogs dofollow, we would have a massively long list and it would benefit everyone, especially since we are all trying to promote different markets.
Anyone is welcome to comment on my blog, however if it is a lazy comment I shall delete it.

If you allow mortgage sites please add sandiegomortgagefinder(dot)com . Do follow links and good juice for RE sites.

Thanks,
joe

Thanks Eric for the list. Its a great help.

April 25, 2010

Hi, please add my site http://www.housing-crisis.net This is a new do follow real estate blog I created. Thanks!

April 27, 2010

I don’t understand how the post “Successful growing of Vegetables” relates to the Housing Crisis or theme of that blog.

April 29, 2010

Holly……. !!! Its a huge list of Real Estate Blog. I like it man. thank you

Eric, I am glad I found your blog. Thank you for putting this great list together. It is much appreciated.

May 3, 2010

I wanted to have various categories related to house and home. Gardening is a category related to house and home. Am I too broad on my decision for content? Should I narrow my blog to more relate to the domain name housing-crisis.net? Thanks, your opinion to valued.

I didnt know that geekestate allowed do follow, my new blog will also allow do follow links once it lauches. It will be http://www.realestatemontrealblog.com and will have a french version of it also. i think there was a wordpress plugin for do follow right ?

May 10, 2010

Eric you probably already know this but the majority of these blogs are not do follow.

May 10, 2010

Eric,

This is really helpful. Thanks for putting these Do-Follow blogs together. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this, it helps a lot!

May 21, 2010

It’s great that you have shared this list with us. It helps people in this business get a good traffic flow, and helps to get links out! Thank you!

May 22, 2010

Thanks everyone. I have been visiting most of the sites and I appreciate the list.

May 26, 2010

This is an awesome site! Most of these blogs have a high page rank and links will greatly improve your rankings on Google.

May 27, 2010

What a great list of do-follow blogs. It is really informative and innovative keep up posted with new updates. Really valuable.

Thanks a lot.

May 30, 2010

What a comprehensive list. Do you update these regularly?

June 7, 2010

That is a great list Eric, thanks! What a great tool and a big help it is to some.

Eric, thanks for putting this together, and related to the real estate industry. I only have an AR blog at the moment, and am hoping to learn of the WP best methods being used. John

June 12, 2010

Here are my two new real estate blogs

http://costadelsolpropertyforsale.wordpress.com/

http://luxurypropertyspain.wordpress.com/

Both are going to based on high quality content that hopefully hasnt been posted before like La Zagaleta post on the Luxury property spain blog.

Please feel free to comment on these blogs, any comment related to the post will likely be approved.

Most of you will probably want to wait until the blogs have page rank before posting but thats your choice

Cheers

Nicky

June 12, 2010

Sorry just realised the error of my ways please delete my posts will re post when sorted

June 15, 2010

Thanks for sharing with all and its really helping me alot… keep the good work going.

June 16, 2010

Hi Eric,

Please add http://www.occasiorealty.com.

Thanks!

Steve

Eric,

Can you add http://www.americancapitalhomeloans.com please? Thanks. Here’s also hoping we don’t get spammed. Just built this website from scratch–with required captchas to add comments. So no spam! Hopefully…

Also saw you were on Activerain the other day. You seeing any results from that?

June 18, 2010

I finally merged my blog and static site..short term pain..please update my blog to the new site http://cheririley.com and REMOVE http://cheririleysblog.com Thanks! Cheri

Thanks Eric! I just got all these saved. Another thing that is helpful and very important, is to give home Buyers a way to save their searches so they can see what is new on the market each day. At http://www.FindMyHomeDenver.com you will see very easy map searches that can be saved in order for you to receive updated email listings each day. This will give home buyers a way to be confident in their understanding of the market and help save you time when figuring out what people like. Good luck and Happy Home Buying!

July 5, 2010

I think that most people shouldn’t worry so much about finding high value sites to back link to, but rather should be creating content to provide useful information to consumers.

July 6, 2010

Hello, I am new to the blog thing, but have been enjoying it so far. Its Great to hear from different parts of the country. I like reading about the solutions other agents come up with for the day to day challenges.

July 10, 2010

Hi Eric,

Thank you for this great resource. If you could add my site to your list, that would be great!

http://austinownerfinancedhomes.com/category/austin-owner-financing-blog/

Thanks so much!!

July 12, 2010

Here is my blog.

July 12, 2010

OOPS! Sorry Eric… The URL above is the incorrect. Here is the CORRECT URL..

http://www.austinownerfinancedhomes.com/category/austin-owner-finance-blog/

Sorry about the mix-up and thanks again!

July 18, 2010

Could you please add http://www.moving2wellington.com to your list. I just purchased an LEC 5 from Real Estate Webmasters which is a do follow blog (launching in a month). My old LEC 4 from rew was a no follow at moving2manitowoc.com

I think the list needs to be cleaned up a bit. I’ve come across more than a few blogs that haven’t been updated since 2009. I personally enjoy fresh content.

I thank you for the list! I was wondering if there is a way to change my blog to do follow even though we use Word Press? I don’t know how long i finish that job although i lost alot of time to find a list of all do-follow blogs and sharing this article.

It seems like a link is a link follow or no follow

August 3, 2010

Will be adding http://www.buyersutopia.com as a do follow

August 9, 2010

Thanks for your do follow list.

August 14, 2010

It’s 2010 do you have an updated list?

August 16, 2010

Hi, eric this really useful post to real estate marketers… thanks a lot

I’ve recently come to understand that do-follow blogs are not necessarily dramatically superior to the other kind. And yet, a list like this is useful.

August 30, 2010

Thanks Eric, hope you come whith updated list.

September 1, 2010

Thanks Eric for sharing. This will help me a great deal

September 5, 2010

Hi Eric,

Thank you very much for the do follow list. I would be great if you update the 2010 list.

Great post can you add http://www.arkansasmortgageonline.com to the list?

October 3, 2010

Thanks for sharing Eric, Have you updated the list lately?

October 5, 2010

Thanks for the list. A Realtor friend of mine Mario Jannatpour recently authored a book, “Must See Inside: An Up Close and Personal Approach to Real Estate.” His blog is located at http://activerain.com/blogs/marioj

Thanks for list Eric, found some really great websites reading through the post.

October 16, 2010

sanfranciscorrealestateguy.com add it to the list if you still update it

Great list that is relevant today. Thanks for putting this together and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the huge list..

October 21, 2010

Hi Eric,

Just found your blog, great post. I just changed my Scottsdale Condo Blog to Do-follow please feel free to add it to your list. http://www.scottsdalecondosnow.com

Thanks

October 22, 2010

Feel free to add my do-follow Atlanta Real Estate Blog to the fold: http://www.metroatlantapros.com. I’m thinking I’m going to install that linklove plugin you mention in your rules too!

October 22, 2010

Anybody have a link to download the Linky Love plugin? The guy who created it is no longer supporting it and the files don’t seem to be available on his site anymore.

Im assuming it works with WP3.0 also?

October 25, 2010

Neilschwartz.net is now DO FOLLOW after 3 comments.

Would appreciate if you can add it to the list.

October 27, 2010

This is great Eric.

Would you please include http://www.rogersandrush.com/blog

Thanks,

Alex

The list looks like it’s expanded nicely. Thank You goes out to Eric for taking the time to put this together!

November 11, 2010

Thank you for this list! You just saved me like 6 hours. Not sure if it was mentioned in the comments above, but if anyone is looking to find out if a site is do follow or not I highly recommend using the firefox addon called Search Status which can be found here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/321/

once installed click on “highlight nofollow links” and it’ll show you whether or not the link is do follow. Hopefully that was helpful.

Cheers,

Ryan

November 16, 2010

These lists really do help me manage my time. I don’t mind leaving comments and suggestions especially when they are willing to add a “do follow” link in return.

November 27, 2010

My blog is now DO FOLLOW, so come get your backlinks. We enable linkbacks and comments as DO FOLLOW. It is all about LA Realtors and LA Real Estate.

Thank you for the great lists of do-follow real estate blogs. It’s a great help for me too so I could also promote my real estate blog. By the way, are all those blog working? Is the lists up to date? Lots of thanks anyway

December 2, 2010

Thanks Eric, you have a great list here. This is truly helpful. Tc!

December 7, 2010

WOW what a great list , thanks for sharing. You can also add my blog to the do-follow list.

December 11, 2010

I’m wondering if there is a way to control how Wp ‘crops’ or places an image that can be viewed in full by clicking. Wp seems to show the middle of the reduced image, and I would prefer to show the top of the image. (If that makes sense.)

December 19, 2010

Great thanks for the list. I’ll have to try some while I promote http://ocalafloridarealestate.net. It seems though that some no follow links are getting picked up as well.

December 23, 2010

Fantastic list Eric. I’ve been looking for something like this for awhile now. Thanks for taking the time to start this and for keeping it going!

WOW,That good work.I like your dofollow blogs list.

December 26, 2010

Went through the list and many are now no-follow.
Either you’ve got a filter (i.e. 5 or 10 posts) or your site is now no-follow too…which is a bit ironic since this is a do follow blog list.

December 27, 2010

Hey Eric, would you kindly add http://www.GreaterBethesdaOnline.com to the list. Happy holidays…
K

January 5, 2011

February 14, 2011

Dear Eric,

Can you please add my blog to the list http://www.san-fernando-valley-ca-real-estate.com/blog. Thank you.

February 25, 2011

Eric, thanks for posting this information and thank you to the other pro’s who’ve suggested adding their sites. I started out looking for these blogs as a way to increase traffic to my site. In reality the biggest benefit I’ve received from all this is what I’ve learned from the different blogs regarding real estate. Thanks, Joe

February 26, 2011

Hi Eric,

Would you mind adding my blog to your list? I don’t have any fancy plug-ins, but you can post your web address in the comment area and it will lead back to your site.

Best,

Thanks Eric for this do-follow real estate blog list. Please add http://www.hud512.com to the list.

I was searching the internet for dofollow blogs and came across your site. You have not only a great list but so do most of your comments!
I think your list will keep me busy for a while until I figure out the blogs I like and I can contribute on a consistent basis. thank you!

Yes great list, thanks. With a little link love, you get a bunch of good info.

June 9, 2011

Thanks for the list- very comprehensive. I will make sure to come back and list any new ones I find.

June 9, 2011

Hi Eric,
I posted a couple of weeks ago on here about the do-follow blogs. I actually had someone go thru and update links, added some new ones, etc. Would you want the updated links? Thanks again

Great stuff…thanks, eric….

Nice use of Thesis and DS Carmen!

Learning to follow them, Thank you Eric.

July 20, 2011

Great job Eric, we are all appreciative.

July 25, 2011

Thanks Eric!

July 26, 2011

Eric: love you site. Can you tell me what you suggest to get my blog really jamming? Can I repost any of your articles?

August 7, 2011

CallChrisToday.com definitely is DOFOLLOW. But I moderate all comments and they won’t be published if they aren’t pertaining to the post and somewhat literate.

I wasn’t sure if you knew this, or if it even matters, since this post is now 3 years old, but I keep getting a script error whenever I try to access your list on this post. Great post though, very informative and value added, thanks.

August 11, 2011

What script error are you getting? Do you have a screenshot?

August 13, 2011

Hi Eric- I’ve searched the web for no follow real estate blogs. Thanks for compiling them all in one place.

August 13, 2011

I also got a script error, I didn’t take a screen shot though. Running Firefox’s latest version, not sure if that matters.

August 17, 2011

brilliant post by you for do-follow blogs.some of them in list have converted to nofollow now.keep updating such helpful info..Calgary Real Estate

August 18, 2011

Are you providing IDX for MLSPIN Massachusetts?

I am using Firefox and I got a script error when I tried to send earlier

September 2, 2011

Most of you don’t even know what “dofollow” means. Why are you guys saying “Please add my blog” when your blogs aren’t even dofollow. This is exhausting.

September 3, 2011

Ric & Pamela Dizon, your blog is NOFOLLOW! Why are you posting here? I just checked the source code for http://lapalmahomefinder411.com/news/ and you use “rel = external nofollow.”

September 3, 2011

ASR Property Solutions, why are you posting here? Your Blog is NOFOLLOW!

September 3, 2011

“Adore Realty Blog is now do follow, if you want to add us that would be great.”

Not true. Your blog is NOFOLLOW.

September 8, 2011

Hey Eric thanks for compiling such a great list. As soon as we have the entire blog going I will certainly let you know!

October 11, 2011

My sisters realty blog is do-follow, angelakhomes.com and my friends is too jdavidbell.com -
Thanks Eric

October 13, 2011

Impressive blog Eric, all these years later and still getting comments :-)

November 12, 2011

One thing I’d like to know….is there an SEO advantage to making my blog a “Do Follow” on the comments?

@Malibu there is no such special benefit of making your blog “Dofollow” it’ll just get you tons of traffic and nothing else. People use this trick to increase their ads click through rates. More traffic means more click through.

Great list! Thanks. Here is one with PR5

Has this site changed status on no follow?

I have seoquake installed and set it to strikethrough no follow links…. All links appear to be so.

Please add my blog to the list of Do-follow real estate blogs. Thank you for your efforts!

May 30, 2012

This list is a life saver. I thought almost everyone was no follow these days. I understand the need for no follow links, as many people abused the do-follow links of old.

I really hope the people using these sites are actually adding to the conversation and not just spamming and saying the most generic sentences they can.

It’s up to us to promote good conduct on the web.

July 8, 2012

This list was a great idea but…Are any of these blogs/sites dofollow any more? I looked thought a third of them and they were all nofollow. Even the last ones to post.
